Joseph’s Powerful Intercession

Saint Joseph holds a unique place in salvation history. He was chosen to be the husband of the Virgin Mary and the earthly father of Jesus, entrusted with protecting and providing for the Holy Family.

For those of us committed to leadership in the public square, his example is profoundly relevant.

Dear TLI family,

This week the world continues to remind us why the mission of forming virtuous leaders matters so deeply. Across nations we see growing polarization in politics, uncertainty in global markets, and social tensions that challenge the dignity of the human person and the stability of families. These developments highlight the urgent need for men and women of character who can bring clarity, prudence, and moral courage into the institutions that shape society.

This is precisely why the work of Tepeyac Leadership matters. Our mission is not simply to offer formation, but to prepare Catholic professionals who will influence culture, business, civic life, and public policy with virtue and wisdom. The world does not only need competent leaders. It needs leaders formed in truth.

Providentially, this week also brings us into a beautiful moment in the life of the Church.

The month of March is traditionally dedicated to Saint Joseph, the silent guardian of the Holy Family and one of the most powerful intercessors in the communion of saints. On March 10 the Church begins the Novena to Saint Joseph, preparing for his great feast on March 19.

Saint Joseph holds a unique place in salvation history. He was chosen to be the husband of the Virgin Mary and the earthly father of Jesus, entrusted with protecting and providing for the Holy Family. The Church also honors him as the Patron of the Universal Church, a title given in recognition of his role as protector of Christ and therefore protector of the Body of Christ throughout history.

In a world filled with noise, Saint Joseph teaches us something extraordinary through his silence. Scripture records not many spoken words from him, but his actions reveal unwavering faith, courage, and obedience to God. Often overlooked, St. Matthew 1:25 shows that Joseph did, in fact, speak one word in the Gospels, the most important word: “He named Him Jesus.” We love Saint Joseph because he led by example, accepting difficult responsibilities, protecting those entrusted to him, and faithfully carrying out his vocation without seeking recognition.

For those of us committed to leadership in the public square, his example is profoundly relevant.

Saint Joseph reminds us that authentic leadership is rooted in humility, fidelity, and service. True leaders do not seek applause. They seek to fulfill their mission.

I invite the entire Tepeyac Leadership family to join in praying the Novena to Saint Joseph, whichever version you prefer. Let us ask for his powerful intercession in several special ways.

First, let us pray for the Church. In times of cultural confusion and spiritual challenges, the Church needs faithful lay leaders who are willing to stand for truth with charity and conviction.

Second, let us pray for the world. Nations need leaders who protect human dignity, defend the family, and promote the common good.

Third, let us pray for our families. Saint Joseph is a powerful patron of fathers, workers, and households. May he guard our homes and strengthen our vocations.

And finally, let us ask Saint Joseph to watch over Tepeyac Leadership. Just as he protected the Holy Family, may he guide and protect this apostolate so that it may continue forming leaders who transform society.

As we continue through this year, the TLI program remains active and strong. A new cohort of leaders is being formed, and the mission continues to expand. Please keep all our current participants and future Tepeyac Leaders in your prayers. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide them as they grow in virtue, wisdom, and courage.

We also ask for your prayers in a special way for our upcoming Tepeyac Leadership Gala. This event is essential for the growth of the apostolate. Through it, we seek the resources needed to expand our reach and bring the Tepeyac Leadership experience to more Catholic professionals around the world.

Please pray that this gala bears powerful fruit. Pray that generous supporters step forward, that hearts are inspired by the mission, and that the resources needed to advance this work are abundantly provided.

With the intercession of Saint Joseph, we entrust all these intentions to the Lord.

May the guardian of the Holy Family guide and protect the TLI family, and may he help us remain faithful in the mission entrusted to us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

In Christ and Our Lady of Guadalupe,

Cristofer Pereyra

P.S. Last year, as guests arrived at the venue for the Tepeyac Leadership Gala, we asked them a simple but important question. Their answers were thoughtful, candid, and deeply hopeful for the future of our Church and our society. In the video below, you will see a compilation of their responses.
