Stand Where Heaven Touched Earth

There is no more fitting place for The Hour of the Laity than Tepeyac Hill. Just as Mary once said to Juan Diego, “Am I not here, who am your Mother?”, she now says to us: I am with you in your mission to sanctify the world.

There are places in the world that change history. Places where God has chosen to reveal His love in a particular way. Tepeyac Hill is one of those places.

Nearly 500 years ago, on that very hill outside Mexico City, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a humble man, Juan Diego, and left us her miraculous image on his tilma. That image still draws millions of pilgrims every year. It is the clearest reminder that heaven has touched earth.

Now, in 2025, Catholic lay leaders from across the world will gather at Tepeyac once more—not for an apparition, but for a commissioning. For at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we will ask Our Mother to intercede for a new outpouring of grace upon the laity.

There is no more fitting place for The Hour of the Laity than Tepeyac Hill. Just as Mary once said to Juan Diego, “Am I not here, who am your Mother?”, she now says to us: I am with you in your mission to sanctify the world.

Imagine kneeling in prayer at the Basilica, asking Our Lady to strengthen you for your vocation as a Catholic leader. Imagine standing with thousands of fellow professionals, receiving the grace and courage to live your faith boldly in every sphere of life. Imagine leaving Tepeyac not only inspired but transformed—ready to go forth as a missionary disciple in your home, your work, your community.

To stand where heaven touched earth is a gift. To be commissioned there for mission is a responsibility.

This November, that opportunity is yours. Will you be there?

What Candlemas Teaches Us About Vocation

As the Christmas season formally concludes, the Church gently shifts our focus. We are no longer simply contemplating the Child in the manger. We are being prepared to follow the Man who will teach, suffer, die, and rise.
