Courage for Today

In these times of political upheaval, humanitarian crisis and economic strain we seek to produce men and women who will protect the vulnerable, foster the common good and witness to the hope of Christ’s coming with humility and firm conviction.

Thank you for your partnership in rebuilding a Christian civilization for the 21st century.

Dear TLI family,

Gaudete! Peace and courage to you today. As we approach Christmas and the close of the year, I want to reflect briefly on what the news of these days is teaching us about the kind of leadership the world needs from lay faithful and how Tepeyac Leadership is investing in that leadership.

Around the globe we see the real consequences of political change and social anxiety. In Chile a decisive election has drawn attention across the hemisphere and reminded us that many voters are calling for order and clarity in the face of insecurity and economic strain. This moment fits into broader regional currents and how Catholic citizens are wrestling with questions of the common good, and getting involved.

At the same time, countries at war remain front and center in our prayer and action. The conflict in Gaza continues to produce unbearable human suffering and urgent humanitarian needs. In eastern Europe, the grinding violence of the Russia-Ukraine war continues to shape geopolitics and to create displacement and loss. Recent battlefield developments show how fragile any political settlement remains and how much rebuilding will be required of nations and of Christian communities.

Economists and public leaders also warn of continued uncertainty for households and businesses in the months ahead. That economic fragility makes effective and charitable responses more difficult and yet more necessary. Our work to form Catholic leaders who think critically about work, family, community, and public life is not optional in such a season.

What does Tepeyac Leadership do in response to these challenges?

We form lay leaders to bring the Gospel into the arenas where decisions are made. We teach disciplines of discernment and civic virtue. We equip professionals to serve with competence and supernatural vision. In these times of political upheaval, humanitarian crisis and economic strain we seek to produce men and women who will protect the vulnerable, foster the common good and witness to the hope of Christ’s coming with humility and firm conviction.

This week, please join me in three simple things.

First, pray for those most affected by the conflicts and for political leaders that they may govern with prudence and mercy. Second, pray for Pope Leo XIV and for the shepherds of the Church that they may have strength and clarity. Third, consider how your resources and time can be a concrete support for formation that builds long term Catholic renewal in homes, parishes, workplaces and public life.

As we close the year, please consider supporting Tepeyac Leadership with a year-end gift. Your support sustains programs that form faithful lay leaders across professions and generations. Below are five ways you can support TLI during this season of generosity:

  1. Make a one-time gift or if you prefer, send your gift by mail.
  2. Become a monthly partner, walk with us in an ongoing way.
  3. If you can, make a qualified charitable distribution.
  4. Contribute through your company’s matching program
  5. Include Tepeyac Leadership in your state plans at MyCatholicWill.

Every gift matters and every prayer strengthens this mission. If you would like details about any of these options reply to this message and our team will gladly respond.

Thank you for your partnership in this work of rebuilding a Christian civilization for the 21st century. May Our Lord guide and bless our labors for the renewal of families, parishes, and nations.

Sincerely yours in Christ and Our Lady of Guadalupe,

Cristofer Pereyra

The road does not have to be a place of spiritual decline. If we enter the desert with an attentive heart, we will find that Christ is already there, waiting to meet us in the quiet of the journey.
