Dear TLI Family,
As you read this message, I am in San Jose, Costa Rica, speaking about lay Catholic leadership in civil society for the Instituto Tomás Moro. It is a joy to share with other Catholic leaders about how living with integrity, courage, and faith can transform workplaces, communities, and even entire societies.
In a world often confused by competing narratives and shifting values, the call to lead with truth has never been more urgent. Truth is not merely about facts or policies; it is about alignment between who we are, what we believe, and the decisions we make. A leader who embraces truth inspires trust, builds coherence, and empowers others to act rightly, even when doing so is inconvenient or unpopular.
Leadership rooted in truth requires courage. It is easy to follow the tide of trends, to speak what is pleasing, or to compromise principles for temporary gain. But as Catholic leaders, we are called to a higher standard: to be steadfast witnesses of integrity and moral clarity. Every conversation, every meeting, every decision is an opportunity to exercise this form of leadership.
It is also a leadership that listens. Speaking the truth does not mean silencing others; it means creating space for dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect. When truth guides our leadership, we become instruments of unity and clarity in places of confusion and division.
As we embrace this mission in our own lives, we also look forward to celebrating our shared commitment to faithful leadership at the 2nd Tepeyac Leadership Gala on March 28. This evening at Mt. Claret Center in Phoenix will be a wonderful opportunity to honor those who exemplify the courage to lead with truth, and to inspire others to do the same.
Thank you for your dedication to living truth in leadership each day. I am grateful for our community and the witness each of you provides in your families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
