Not Business as Usual Anymore

Together, under the mantle of Our Lady of Guadalupe and with the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, we will pray for strength, courage, and renewal in the U.S. and beyond.

Dear TLI family,

What took place last week has touched us all in profound ways. Over the past few days, I have been reflecting on it and I realize it cannot be business as usual anymore. This is a turning point.

Everywhere we look, we see signs of cultural decay: divisions in politics, confusion in education, corruption in business, relativism in media, and loneliness in families. The challenges can feel overwhelming. But history reminds us that in every age of crisis, God raises up saints.

And in this age, He is calling you. He is calling us.

The renewal of culture requires authentic Catholic leaders, men and women who live in the world but are not of it, who carry Christ into their professions, and who witness with integrity, compassion and courage. Leaders who do not compromise truth but proclaim it with love.

This is why The Hour of the Laity 2025 matters. And it is why moments of prayer and solidarity, like the one we will share this week, are so important.

On Tuesday, September 16 at 6:00 PM, we will gather for a Rosary Prayer Night for Charlie Kirk at Turning Point Headquarters, 4930 E Beverly Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85044.

Together, under the mantle of Our Lady of Guadalupe and with the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, we will pray for strength, courage, and renewal in the U.S. and beyond.

Friends, the Church needs authentic leaders like you. Not someday, but today.

Even if you are not in Phoenix, would join us in prayer?

The Church needs you and me to show up. If not now, when? If not us, the children of God, then who?

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Cristofer Pereyra

From the beginning, the American story has been deeply intertwined with Christianity. Although the Founding Fathers represented different denominations and convictions, they largely shared a belief that human rights come from God, not from governments.

Why Do Catholics Confess Their Sins to a Priest?

The priest is an instrument, much like a messenger who delivers a royal pardon. The authority belongs entirely to Christ, but He chooses to make His mercy present through human speech and presence.

The Hidden Spiritual Cost of Constant Connectivity

Many professionals begin and end their days with screens rather than silence. The first impulse upon waking is often to check messages; the last before sleep is to scroll. It trains the mind to seek external input rather than interior dialogue with God.
